“Man Banned for Secretly Filming Woman in Shower”

A man, Craig Ellingford, has been banned from visiting leisure facilities after being caught secretly filming a woman changing in a shower cubicle at the Olympia Leisure Pool in Dundee. Ellingford, 44, waited for the woman to partially undress and step into the shower before sneaking into the adjacent cubicle. The woman noticed his phone pointed towards her while bending down to untie her laces.

Ellingford, residing at Cardross Place in Dundee, pleaded guilty to voyeurism at the Olympia leisure pool complex. He used his mobile phone inside the shower cubicle to observe the woman undressing. The incident was reported to the authorities, and Ellingford was found on CCTV monitoring the woman’s movements before entering the locker room and eventually the shower area to film her.

After being confronted by the woman, Ellingford ignored her and left the cubicle. The victim, visibly shaken and distressed, reported the incident to staff and the police. In court, Ellingford expressed deep remorse for his actions, acknowledging the impact on the victim and his family. Sheriff Mark O’Hanlon imposed a conduct order, banning Ellingford from leisure facilities, placing him on supervision and the sex offenders register for nine months, and mandating 165 hours of unpaid work.

The sheriff highlighted the seriousness of the offense, noting Ellingford’s deliberate actions in following the woman into the shower cubicle. The victim’s well-being was emphasized throughout the proceedings, underscoring the impact of Ellingford’s actions on her.
