Former Police Officer Denies Defrauding Luxury Retailers

A former Metropolitan Police officer has denied accusations of defrauding luxury retailers by falsely claiming non-receipt of expensive items, such as a £700 bikini and a MacBook. Sunna Harrison-Aziz, 28, residing in Coulsdon, South London, faces charges related to corruption, fraud, and obstructing justice.

Harrison-Aziz, a former constable, is facing charges including five counts of misusing police powers, four counts of fraudulent misrepresentation, and one count of perverting justice. At her recent appearance at Southwark Crown Court, Harrison-Aziz pleaded not guilty to all ten charges. Edgar Morais, 30, from Croydon, also denied allegations of encouraging Harrison-Aziz to abuse her police authority.

The accusations against Harrison-Aziz involve falsely claiming non-delivery of luxury items from various retailers, including a Dior bikini, an Apple MacBook, a Cartier wedding band, and a Moncler jacket. Additionally, she is accused of inappropriately accessing police records on multiple occasions between January and September 2022.

Furthermore, Harrison-Aziz faces an allegation of attempting to obstruct justice by concealing her iPhone from the authorities, falsely reporting it lost and damaged, and subsequently destroying it after a police search of her residence. A trial date has been set for March 27, 2028.

Judge Nicholas Rimmer informed Harrison-Aziz that her trial date had been scheduled as soon as possible due to court constraints. Another defendant, Eugene Nunoo, 30, from Eastbourne, East Sussex, also pleaded not guilty to charges of encouraging Harrison-Aziz’s misuse of police powers. Nunoo appeared in court via video link.
