A tragic incident unfolded in Dublin as a young man, Thomas Griffin, lost his life following a suspected assault. Thomas, aged 32 and a boxer, was believed to have been attacked at the War Memorial Gardens near Islandbridge. In an attempt to escape, he entered the River Liffey but succumbed to his injuries despite emergency services’ efforts.
