UK Set for Warm Spell: Some Counties to Reach 24C+

Weather forecasts for the UK indicate that seven counties are expected to experience warm temperatures of 24C or higher in the next two weeks. The Met Office predicts a shift to warmer weather following periods of rain earlier in the month, with wetter conditions expected in the northwest and drier conditions in the southeast.

According to maps from WXCharts using MetDesk data, by 6pm on Saturday, June 13, most of the country will enjoy warm to mild weather. Southern England, the Midlands, and Wales are likely to see temperatures in the low 20s, except for some coastal areas in the southwest, which may stay in the late teens.

London is forecasted to reach 26C, with neighboring counties such as Kent, Surrey, and Berkshire also expected to reach temperatures between 24 and 25C. Northern regions will experience temperatures in the late teens, while Northern Ireland is anticipated to be cooler, with temperatures in the mid-teens.

The Met Office anticipates a cloudy Monday with rain moving eastwards from the west, particularly heavy in western regions. Winds will be moderate to fresh, lighter in the north, and temperatures are predicted to be normal for this time of year.

Looking ahead to Tuesday (June 2) to Thursday (June 4), unsettled weather is expected with rain, showers, and thunderstorms, with a chance of hail during thunderstorms. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler compared to the previous weeks.

In the extended forecast for Friday (June 5) to Sunday (June 14), the Met Office suggests variable weather patterns with Atlantic frontal systems crossing the UK, bringing showers or prolonged periods of rain. Strong winds may affect some areas, especially in the northwest. Towards the end of the period, higher pressure and drier conditions might prevail, particularly in the south, with temperatures expected to remain normal overall.
